Haifa, Israel

סוף סוף, חזרתי לארץ המובטחת. אין כמו בבית!

So, since Sunday I`m back home. That's a wonderful felling. Just like grandma said (in translation from Swedish): Away good, at home best...

About the future of this blog: now it will go out for a vacation (this time the blog, not me... :), but maybe I will return with a future blog (this or another), documenting my university life, which will begin in a week and a half in Jerusalem in the departments of Physics and Linguistics (feel free to write me if you want it). Till then, farewell for all the loyal readers!

Sãu Paulo, Brasil

I am a bit unsober now due to a capinhera, so my post might not be fully coherent...
Anyway, I got Wednesday to Brasil, and saw the falls from the Brasilian side. They are very impressive from there too - one can get a more panoramic view, and water spray from the Devil's throat. Here are some pictures from both sides of the border.
On Thursday I went to a short stroll in Ciudad del Este, Paraguay. I was told there are a lot of cheap electronics there, so I expected to find a shopping mall there. It turns out (after a quasi-traffic jam on the bridge to Paraguay) that virtually all the city entrance is a city mall. Anyhow, I didn't find what I was looking for.
On the afternoon I visited Itaipu, the largest hydroelectric power plant in the world, a joint facility owned by Brasil and Paraguay.
On the evening of the same day I took the night bus to Sãu Paulo, and here I am. Luckily for me, I got to the city just on time to see the Modern Art Bianal, which according to Footprint is the most important modern art event in Latin America. I didn't manage to see all of it - there were a lot of art works (even one from Israel by Doron Rabina), but indeed there were some interesting pieces of art. A most intriguing one was of the Bulgarian artist Rassim, who underwent a circumcision operation and filmed it, to "better understand other religions and ethnic groups".
Tomorrow I will take the flight back home! For all interested (I suppose none) I will land at Natbag at Sunday 14:55, with Air France flight AF1620 from Paris. You could check in the Airport's site for updates. The date of the croquet party will be announced separately.
